1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how IKITEIRUNO (the “App”) collects, uses, and shares information.
2. Information we collect
- Anonymous user ID: an identifier created by an Appwrite anonymous session
- Check-in data: the timestamp of your “I’m alive” check-in (last check-in)
- Emergency contacts: email addresses (up to 3) and optional display names
- Rules: threshold days without check-in, repeat mode
- Notification setting: whether you granted local notification permission (the App schedules a daily 10:00 reminder)
3. How we use information
- Provide the check-in (alive) feature
- Send email notifications to your emergency contacts when you have not checked in for a configured period
- Store your settings and maintain the App
4. Storage and sharing
The App stores check-in data, settings, and emergency contacts in Appwrite (a backend managed by the developer). When you are overdue, a backend cloud function sends emails via an SMTP mail server to your emergency contacts.
5. Data retention
We retain your data until you delete/reset it from within the App, or as needed for service operation.
6. Your choices (delete/reset)
You can delete/reset your data from the App’s Settings screen. This deletes backend data (check-ins, rules, emergency contacts) and resets the anonymous session.
7. Emergency contact notice
You are responsible for obtaining consent from people you add as emergency contacts. Please double-check email addresses to reduce the risk of sending email to the wrong person.
7.1. Emergency contact unsubscribe
If you were added as an emergency contact, you can stop receiving alerts from a specific app user using the “Unsubscribe” link included in alert emails.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards (including access control) to protect data; however, no method is 100% secure.
9. Children
If you are a minor, please use the App with a parent/guardian’s consent where required by law.
